Do condenser (ventless) dryers need cleaning?
Yes — condenser and heat-pump dryers still have a lint filter and a secondary evaporator or condenser unit that both need regular cleaning. They don't have an exterior vent, so they don't need vent cleaning, but neglecting the internal condenser can reduce efficiency and shorten the lifespan of the unit significantly.
Condenser and heat-pump dryers (common Bosch, Miele, LG, and Samsung models) use a closed-loop air system: they don't vent to the outside, so they don't have a wall or roof termination to clean. Instead, moisture is condensed out of the air internally and collected in a reservoir or drained.
What they do have: the normal lint filter (clean every load), plus a secondary filter on the condenser or heat-pump evaporator (Bosch, Miele, and Electrolux models in particular — check your owner's manual). This secondary filter should be rinsed monthly.
Where pros still help: some premium condenser dryers accumulate lint in the internal air channels that owners can't access. Miele's service schedule recommends a deep-clean every 3–5 years depending on usage. We can coordinate that with the manufacturer's authorized service or handle the accessible-channel cleaning ourselves.
Bottom line: if you have a ventless dryer, you don't need our vent cleaning service — but you still need a maintenance routine. Read your manual.
