The Dryer Guys

How much does dryer vent cleaning cost in North Jersey?

The Dryer Guys charges a flat $49.99 inspection fee and a $220 routine cleaning for standard residential vent runs — a typical total of $269 plus tax. Pricing is the same across all 11 of our North Jersey service towns. Multi-unit and commercial work is quoted separately after a walkthrough.

Our pricing model is deliberately simple: a flat $49.99 inspection fee that's charged every visit, and a $220 routine cleaning that's charged if the inspection shows your vent actually needs cleaning. If the vent is already clear, you pay the $49.99 and we leave.

What the $49.99 includes: a video endoscope scope of the full vent run, an airflow measurement at the exterior termination, an exterior vent hood check, and a written inspection report with photos. If we recommend cleaning, we'll quote the $220 before starting and proceed only on your say-so.

What the $220 includes: rotary-brush cleaning from the exterior termination back through the full run, HEPA-vacuum capture at the dryer connection, exterior hood cleaning, booster-fan verification (if installed), post-service re-scope, written final report with before/after photos, and digital invoice through Square.

When pricing varies: unusually long vent runs (over 35 feet total), runs requiring repair (crushed duct, damaged hood, missing booster), or commercial and multi-unit work. Any variance is quoted up front — never after the work is done.

How we compare: most North Jersey vent cleaners quote $180–$350 for residential work, often with vague 'starting at' pricing. Our flat model is on the mid-to-lower end, with inclusions (documentation, HEPA capture, post-service re-scope) that 'starting at' pricing typically doesn't include.

What's the $49.99 inspection fee, and what do I get for it?

The $49.99 inspection is a flat service fee that covers a full video endoscope scope of your vent, an airflow measurement, an exterior hood check, and a written inspection report with photos. It's charged whether or not cleaning is needed, so you always know where your vent actually stands before committing to additional work.

How long does a routine dryer vent cleaning take?

A standard residential dryer vent cleaning takes about 45 minutes on site — roughly 20 minutes of inspection plus 25 minutes of cleaning, brushing, and verification. Unusually long runs or homes with access challenges can extend to 60–75 minutes. We give a firm arrival window and call 15 minutes before we're on the way.

Is dryer vent cleaning worth the cost?

Yes — for most households, annual dryer vent cleaning pays for itself in reduced energy use, extended dryer lifespan, and meaningful fire-risk reduction. The NFPA identifies failure to clean as the leading factor in the 13,000–15,000 home dryer fires reported to U.S. fire departments each year.
